DECORATIVE COATING

Wood is coated for both aesthetic and protective reasons.
Coating protects wood against the influence of humidity, moulding and fungi as well as the UV radiation.
Wood is a natural biological material that slightly changes its dimensions depending on the varying relative humidity of the environment in which the wood is used. Therefore the coating needs to adhere well to the wood and follow the natural movement of the wood.

The coating is best done industrially in controlled optimal conditions and technology.
All industrial coating is waterbased and according to european standards.
The paintsystems typically include a layer of primer (base coat) that ensures the adhesion of the following decorative coats as well as protection of wood against funghi and mould.

The layers are applied with different appropriate means such as flowcoating, rotating and static brushes as well as pressure spraying. The choice of application depends on the coating materials type and the end use of the wooden materials.
Different layers are force dried in special furnace to ensure thorough drying of the paint prior to packing.

We mainly use coating systems that have proven reliable in Nordic conditions from different well known European suppliers, e.g. Teknos, Tikkurila, Akzo Nobel and others.
